Sending an email is technically free and accessible to everyone with a google account and doing it at scale is easier than ever with the advent of Apollo/Smartlead/Instantly. Paradoxically, this low cost and low barrier to entry is precisely what makes effective cold email outreach so difficult as email providers tank deliverability and business email users grow numb to outside messages.
The fact is that a lot of the standard practices aren’t going to cut it anymore — even in the last 8 months we’ve seen a significant downturn in conversion rates across “bread-and-butter” campaigns that used to win.
